Sneaker authentication Toronto: 7 shops, one $20 check

Elite Xchange at 384 Yonge Street charges $20 to legit check a pair of sneakers. It is the only shop of seven read on 20 September 2026 that publishes a price for the job. The other six check only what they sell, buy or take on consignment.

The one shop that prints a price

Elite Xchange. 384 Yonge Street, unit 29. Its FAQ says a legit check costs $20, on items such as Adidas Yeezy, Nikes, Jordans and Supreme.

The page does not say whether that $20 is Canadian, nor whether you hand the pair over in person. Open noon to 8pm Tuesday to Sunday.

The shops that check what they buy

Outlined. 25 The West Mall, unit 1834, Etobicoke, next to Eataly. Its FAQ says every pair brought in is inspected for authenticity and for condition.

Payment is cash, there is no consignment, and a quote holds for 48 hours before the price can move. Phone 416 296 0389. The site prints no opening hours.

Utopia. 132 Cumberland Street, open noon to 8pm seven days. Its about page carries one line on the subject, "Always & Only 100% Authentic", and no account of how the checking is done.

Utopia sells sneakers new and preowned. A page titled Book an Appointment sits on the site with nothing on it.

Resale shops that check before the sale

VSP Consignment. 1410 Dundas Street West, open 10am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and noon to 5pm Sunday. Its authenticity page says staff read materials, construction, hardware, labels and serial codes, backed by Entrupy.

A written certificate costs $45 for a small good, $75 for a standard item and $200 for Hermès. The consignment desk takes drop offs in opening hours with no appointment. Sneakers are one of the categories it sells.

Fashionably Yours. 707 Queen Street West, phone 647 802 9687. Its authenticity page says a third party service checks every item before it reaches the sales floor, and staff check it again after that.

The shop backs that with a money back authenticity guarantee covering return and shipping costs. It prints no opening hours on its store locator.

The shops that publish nothing

Backdoor. 491 Queen Street West, open 11am to 8pm daily. Nothing on its site covers authentication.

That street number comes off Backdoor's own page. The shoptoronto directory row still carries 432 Queen Street West.

Throwback Vault. 550 Queen Street West, open 11am to 7pm seven days. The vintage shop publishes no authentication policy either.

One Toronto shop prints a price for checking a pair. It is $20.

If no Toronto counter will take it

eBay Canada's Authenticity Guarantee page says its authenticators check a pair against the listing, then ship it with an authentication card or tag. The same page says eBay covers the cost of that check on sneakers, for a limited time. Sneakers over $750 CAD need a signature on delivery.

StockX's verification page says every order is inspected by its experts or shipped by a seller it has verified. That page names no Canadian centre.

Where can I get sneakers authenticated in Toronto?

Elite Xchange, 384 Yonge Street, unit 29, at $20 a pair. No other shop read on 20 September 2026 publishes a check on a pair you bring in. Outlined and VSP Consignment inspect pairs they are buying or taking in.

How much does a sneaker legit check cost in Toronto?

The one published price is $20, at Elite Xchange. Its FAQ does not say whether that is in Canadian dollars. A written certificate is a different thing: VSP Consignment charges $45 to $200, and only on goods passing through its own hands.

What sneakers will Toronto shops not check?

Elite Xchange names four labels as examples, so anything outside Nike, Jordan, Adidas Yeezy and Supreme needs a phone call first. Utopia, Backdoor and Throwback Vault publish no checking service at all. Outlined inspects a pair only as part of buying it.
