About this directory

shoptoronto is a list of the independent shops of Toronto. 254 boutiques across 22 neighbourhoods today, with addresses last checked on 24 September 2026. Every entry has a storefront somebody can walk into and an address that was confirmed against the place itself.

There is nothing to buy here and nothing to sign up for. Each shop has one page, and that page carries what the shop publishes about itself: the street, the site, the handle, and what it sells. Nothing is written about a boutique that the boutique did not say.

How a shop gets on the list

The bar is plain. A boutique needs a fixed address in Toronto, a storefront that is open to the public, and a business that sells clothing, jewellery, watches or the objects that go with them. Chains and department stores are left off. So is anything with no address.

A shop is added after its address has been checked against a live record of the place, and it comes off the day that record says the doors have closed. That check is the only promise this site makes.

Who keeps it

Within publishes this directory. Within is a marketplace for the world’s best local boutiques, and it is the reason the list exists: knowing where the good shops are is the job either way, and a list that is useful to a shopper is worth publishing on its own.

A shop that sells through Within carries a link to its live shelf on its page here. Every other shop is listed the same way, with the same facts, and being on Within changes nothing about whether a boutique appears or where it sits.

Corrections

To add a shop, fix a street, change what a listing says a shop sells, or come off the list entirely, write to harry@shopwithin.co with the shop name. Removals are done on the owner’s word alone and need no reason.
