Flea markets Toronto: 8 with dates left in 2026
Antiques go back into St. Lawrence Market on 4 October, the same Sunday the Toronto Flea holds its last market of the year.
We count eight Toronto flea and vintage markets with dates left in 2026, and seven of them open on Sunday, 4 October. That Sunday, a weekly antiques market opens inside St. Lawrence Market again.
The last one closed on 29 May 2022, after 31 years. That day, the Toronto Star found Hussain Saffar pricing a deep blue silk rug at $500. Irene Van Horsen had shown antique toys and handmade lace there on Sundays for more than 15 years.
Its founder, Marlene Cook, feared a city pilot closing part of Market Street to cars would keep rug and furniture buyers away.
The new one belongs to Heritage Antique Shows, which Paul Zammit started in 1976. Its history lists a weekly show at St. Lawrence from 1988 to 1990, so this is its second stay.

For vintage clothes, follow the word vintage
For clothes, the word flea misleads. Neither Dr. Flea's nor Merchants Flea Market lists vintage clothes on its site.
Sunday Variety is where we would start. It runs under the white tent at 125 The Esplanade every Saturday and Sunday, 10am to 5pm, free. No other of the eight opens every weekend with vintage clothing first on its list.
Kealan Sullivan opened it in June 2023 and named the tent the Marquee, Streets of Toronto reported. She has sold vintage on Queen West as 69 Vintage since 2004, its site says.
The Toronto Sunday Market runs every Sunday, 11am to 4pm, in the Parkdale Hall, 1605 Queen Street West, with vintage, antiques and handcrafts. The hall is a restored 1920s theatre.
One more is for next year, and not in our eight. The Toronto Vintage Show, once the Toronto Vintage Clothing Show, calls itself Canada's largest sale of vintage clothing, 1950s to Y2K. Its 2026 shows ran in March and September at the Queen Elizabeth Building, Exhibition Place, and no 2027 date is posted yet.
For a Sunday outdoors
The Toronto Flea, the Leslieville Flea until its 2023 sale, holds its last market of the year on 4 October at the Ashbridge Estate, 1444 Queen Street East. Family Fun Toronto lists 11am to 5pm.
It runs monthly, May to October, but skips August, "a key month where families in the east end vacate Toronto," its vendor page says.
The Ontario Vintage Market sets up on Sundays, 10am to 3pm, at Evergreen Brick Works, 550 Bayview Avenue, with vintage fashion, design and antiques. It goes on to 1 November, skipping 25 October, rain or shine under a huge roof. Entry and the Broadview Station shuttle are free.
These are the two Sundays we would pick over any hall: both run outdoors, and the Toronto Flea bars mass produced and imported goods.
For antiques and jewellery
Antiques at St. Lawrence Market opens on 4 October in the North Market building, 92 Front Street East at Jarvis. It runs Sundays, 9:30am to 5pm, free, except the last Sunday of each month. Its page lists jewellery, silver, porcelain and textiles, no clothes by name.
The Heritage Antique Market takes over Centerpoint Mall, 6464 Yonge Street at Steeles, on statutory holidays. Most mall stores close those days, so its 65 or more dealers fill the whole mall, 9:30am to 5pm, free. Its goods include vintage clothing, and its last 2026 date is Thanksgiving Monday, 12 October.
For groceries and gold
Dr. Flea's, 8 Westmore Drive at Highway 27 and Albion Road, opens weekends from 10am to 5pm and calls itself Toronto's largest indoor and outdoor flea market. Its farmers market runs all year.
Merchants Flea Market, 1921 Eglinton Avenue East at Warden, has run since 1988 and opens weekends, 10am to 6pm. The Jewellery Exchange at the same address has 30 dealers in 10 to 22 karat gold.
Two older names are left out: the Junction Flea's domain has expired, and the Toronto Weston Flea Market's now shows a pizzeria in Celje, Slovenia.
For vintage clothes on any weekend, start at the white tent on The Esplanade.
How to shop a flea
Bring cash. The Vintage Seeker, a Canadian magazine, says some sellers take cards and some do not, antiques dealers least of all.
Arrive at opening. Bargaining is more common at antique shows and flea markets, the magazine says, but pay the marked price at vintage markets that pick their sellers.
Wear a thin tank and bike shorts to try clothes on at any booth, it suggests. Then measure: Wendy Kennedy of Millie's Modern Vintage told the magazine a vintage size 16 is probably an 8 to 10 today.
Hold each piece up to the light, test the zips and check the pockets, says Heddels, the menswear site (it lists old mints and a quarter among the surprises). Smell it too. One shopper told The Vintage Seeker their biggest mistake was "convincing myself that the musty smell would fade away."
Vintage shops near the markets
Gadabout Vintage, 1300 Queen Street East, is our nearest vintage shop to the Toronto Flea, with clothes and curios from the late 1800s to the late 1970s, its site says. West at 1006, Google reviews of Daniel Jewellers & Vendors Market mention vintage clothing and Levi's jeans. Both close Sundays, so go on a Saturday.
Farther west, Fevers Vintage, Hogtown Vintage and The Vintage Hall join the Riverside Vintage Crawl on Friday, 2 October, 6pm to 9pm. The crawl promises to pay the tax in store.
At St. Lawrence, Cook had charged her first dealers $25 apiece, the Star reported. Before Google Lens could price a find, she said, "You had to have the smarts, or just buy it because you liked it."
